Today, the U.S. consumer spends an average of 2 hours and 38 minutes per day on smartphones and tablets. 80% of that time (2 hours and 7 minutes) is spent inside apps and 20% (31 minutes) is spent on the mobile web.

On the fifth anniversary of the iPhone, Flurry, a mobile apps monetization and ad platform, released a stat filled study around mobile apps. Lots of really really good data throughout the summary.

Guy Kawasaki did a webinar with Vocus this week and it was full of really good insight on how to build more engagement on social media and do it in less time – something that in general is becoming more and more difficult. I’ve always looked at webinars with a two worries in mind – 1) it’ll be way too long and 2) it will be a waste of time.

But we’re talking about Guy, right? So naturally, it was 45 minutes of good, honest insight on how to take effective advantage of social media, especially as a writer or entrepreneur.

He deemed social media, “fast, free and ubiquitous.” And to take advantage of that, he shared 10 tips.

Remix Training: 5 Reasons You Need Squats

Anytime strength training is discussed, one of the first exercises brought up is squats. We discuss why it’s so important. If you aren’t familiar with squats or have never done them before, you’re missing out on one of the best strength-building exercises ever. Yes, it’s a lower body exercise, but it does so much more for your body than you could ever imagine. Common thought is that only heavier guys should do squats, because, well, look at your typical powerlifter – they are massive giants (see Arnold Schwarzenegger above).

But that’s definitely misconstrued. Anybody and everybody should be doing squats regularly because of the instant benefits you get from it, both mentally and physically.

Remix Training: Sprints

True, cardio will help for fat loss, but running and jogging for hours might not be the best method.

I HATE running. With a passion.  Nothing is less enjoyable to me than running long distances at a slow and steady pace.  I get that others enjoy it but it’s definitely not for me.

It shouldn’t be for you either, if you want to burn fat quickly.
