Anytime strength training is discussed, one of the first exercises brought up is squats. We discuss why it’s so important. If you aren’t familiar with squats or have never done them before, you’re missing out on one of the best strength-building exercises ever. Yes, it’s a lower body exercise, but it does so much more for your body than you could ever imagine. Common thought is that only heavier guys should do squats, because, well, look at your typical powerlifter – they are massive giants (see Arnold Schwarzenegger above).
But that’s definitely misconstrued. Anybody and everybody should be doing squats regularly because of the instant benefits you get from it, both mentally and physically.
